The uproar over Ghanaian musician, Anita Afriyie and tele-communication network, MTN is still at its peak as the singer’s manager has made announcement that they are ready to challenge MTN in court.
In an interview, the singer’s manager Dan Kay, who’s also her husband, said that the matter is not yet solved and they are ready to face MTN in the court because MTN has made false claims to people about the contract.
“When MTN answered to my lawyer, they said there is someone called Nana, who, on the behalf of Anita, has signed as the manager, but everyone knows I’m not named as Nana. As a major company like MTN, if someone comes along and says this is Nana, Anita’s manager and you go and sign a contract deal with him, it doesn’t make sense to me. Nana is basically a title, not an actual name. So tell me if it is Nana Kwame, Nana Kofi or Nana Akwasi? MTN is telling a lie, that’s not true. They have also told me to go and register with their contract provider and meet them for our remaining contract money. Because I did not sign any contract with them, so in the coming week, we will face them in court.”
Anita Afriyie’s management has been involved in legal war with Africa’s most used telecommunication network MTN for using the singer’s songs for their business without their permission.
MTN had sent a statement to the management of singer claiming someone named Nana signed the contract deal with them as Anita Afriyie’s manager.
Dan Kay, who is the manager and husband of the musician, said his name is not Nana and he also does not know about anyone whose name is Nana. He told while he is the manager, he has not landed any contract with anyone at MTN.
