Chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), Mr Kojo Antwi has advised all musical artists that they should be sufficiently creative enough to draw attention of the public to their art work for increasing their earnings.
He stated that innovativeness is very significant in the music industry, clarifying that it is through such procedures that musician could be extraordinary and attract individuals to his/her work.
While addressing some artists from the Northern and Upper East Region in Tamale, Mr Antwi advises them over this weekend.
He communicated stress over individuals’ lack of ability to pay eminences to artists taking note of that it is influencing their organizations.
He encouraged all people and music listeners that if they use music then they should pay for that music.
Mr Antwi watched that numerous politicians and government officials underestimate musical artists in Ghana and just use them for their political activities like elections and right after that they forget them.
He expressed that a very famous musical artist’s songs are being used by political bodies and by some political parties was surrendered during his sick wellbeing until the intercession of GHAMRO.
Mr Antwi solicited members from organization GHAMRO to make their worries known to the association so they would be tended to.
Chief Officer of GHAMRO, Mr Abraham Adjatey stated that the organization was established was set up by Act 690 and a Legislative Instrument 962 and has the command to gather sovereignties from clients of music.
He said our organization has been fighting for the rights of musicians and GHAMRO has been making public aware of good music that to pay eminences of music that they use thus far six organizations have been sent to court for non settlement of sovereignties. He pleaded to public that paying to music will make musicians more productive.
