Ghanaian music promoter, Papa Loggy
Ghanaian music promoter and Chief Executive Officer of Loggy Entertainment, Papa Loggy in real life known as Prince Nana Boakye Yiadom says that Ghana music industry has misplaced its notoriety because of certain corrupt practices by many music industry persons.
Artist manager made this statement while speaking with Flex Newspaper, he said in an interview that, “DJ Black, Andy Dosty of Multimedia, especially Dr. Pounds, Ignis of 4Syte TV, Kwame Adinkra, Jay Foley, DJs of YFM, Mr. Shark, Publicists, all media Bloggers and owners of music downloading platform proprietors are all despicable media persons and artist who are not basically using their impact to help upcoming musicians.”
Moreover, he said “I set out any of the above mentioned person which I’ve specified to turn out in public and deny that they have never taken payola from musical artists. Ghana music industry is full of crap and is a disfavor! Indeed, even promising artists like Reggie Rockstone, DL, Ofori Amponsah, Daasebre, Obrafour, OK and many other people who have enormously contributed to the music industry still they do promo CDs of music and move from one station to another requesting for airplay. Why should this be so?” Loggy questioned.
The bothered Papa Loggy mourned on how music players generally take heavy amount of money from artists for their promotion. However, they simply say no for playing the tracks on air. “It is exceptionally distressing to bring out only one track and afterward make budget plan for promoting song. These Disk Jockeys on radio station will take immense wholes of money from musicians, with the guarantee of giving the tracks gigantic airplay and after that later play the melodies just for one time,” he included.
He uncovered, “I once drove an artist to pay cash to a music player for promoting his single, and however the DJ quit playing the tune following a week. And later I was arrested by the police for hoodwinking the artist, while the DJ was the person who did not keep his oath.”
