Ghanaian Gospel musician, Kofi Gyan, popular for his song “Yoboyo Sotoyo” said that he is very disappointed at the Charterhouse Productions, organizers of the 2016 prestigious Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for not inviting him to the VGMA nominee’s jam for performance, which took place at Ho, the capital of Volta Region about two weeks ago.
Gospel musician thinks that the Charterhouse considerately promoted only the selected gospel musicians who performed at that night.
He spitted out his disappointment at the organizers in a phone conversation with the host of TOP Showbiz, Kwame Buckman on last Saturday.
Kofi Gyan, who is nominated in the category of the Gospel Artist of the year at this year’s music awards said, “I am very disappointed in the VGMA organizers.”
He asked a question from organizers team that, “If you are not promoting these two artists then why just two Gospel musicians on the nominee list performed at that night on VGMA nominees jam?”
There is something wrong with this kind of favoritism and as many artists already took a swipe on Charterhouse that VGMA is only a private awards scheme and they don’t give awards on the basis of talent and ability. They don’t consider hard work while nominating artists.
