Oheneba Kissi
One of the best highlife artists in Ghana, Oheneba Kissi has stated that the present trend of music is very baffling and making the whole system exceptionally complicated especially for the old artists. He expressed his concern in a meeting with Sammy Flex on radio channel.
He said while comparing music trend of his time to the present one, “In our days we used to assemble music albums for the music promotion however it’s totally changed now, these youthful musicians go to the studio to make single song in a second and will surge it on online networking which was not done like that in our days.”
As indicated by Oheneba Kissi, he was impacted by the present era to drop a single track however abandoned the apprehension and second thought.
He added, “I needed to do quality music, which in universal and is suitable for all generation, both young and old. It’s extremely hard to do production worth more than 30 thousand Ghana cedi’s and simply put it on online networking which one is not certain to recapture his speculation or not. All right, we can also go through the digital age however putting our tracks on online networking for at no costs downloads; I don’t think it will help us.”
“I have been in the music game since long time, for some eras and have seen it all, yet have experienced an issue with a portion of the youthful Disc Jockeys and music players who are attempting to execute the vocation of Highlife artists particularly the more seasoned ones. I have by and by given a C.D of my songs to one of the youthful music player on radio station; however he just refused my request to play my songs since I didn’t pay him ‘Payola’.” Oheneba Kissi included.
