Gospel music star S.P Kofi Sarpong has been badly criticized for performing Kofi Kinaata’s song “Susuka” at a gospel Rock Show previous Sunday.
At the “Rock Show”, the gospel artiste of the year performed few of his songs and then suddenly thought of giving some inspiration to audience. He started it up with Kofi Kinaata’s song Susuka.
But he had no idea that another gospel musician – Naa Mercy who is famous in the modern gospel circles was going to lash out on him exactly on the same event for singing what she called a “wordly” song in a Holy place.
When Naa Mercy came up on the stage to perform, she took some time to reprimand S.P Kofi Sarpong for his performance.
As stated by Naa Mercy, God is a jealous God. And children of God must never joke with the Holy Spirit. She uttered her uncertainties right in front of the well-liked gospel musician.
In a recent interview, Kwesi Ernest, the manager of SP Kofi Sarpong clarified Kofi’s performance and said that SP Kofi Sarpong is renowned for singing good songs whether gospel or not. If he thinks the song is inspirational, he likes to perform it on any event he considers suitable.
On the other hand, he warned promising artistes to be cautious the way they carry themselves about in the name of being holy.
