Ghanaian gospel artist and on-screen character, Mercy Asiedu has denied the rumors which have been circulating that she is getting money from the ruling party National Democratic Congress (NDC) in order to campaign and support it.
Kumawood actress was exclusively interviewed in Kumasi based radio station, where she expressed that she will curse those people who claim she has taken cash to crusade for the NDC, ahead of the general elections 2016. People are attention seekers and they only want to create problems for me.
She said, “People just want to give me a problem that is why they have created this false story. Whoever Ghanaians pick as their leader is additionally, my dad. No one has called to give me cash”.
As indicated by the Kumawood actress, if the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare calls her for talk about the business, then that does not mean I have started supporting NDC. ‘She called me to say she really wants to meet talented people in the creative arts industry so I sorted out this meeting for her. No one gave me cash for that’, she expressed.
“Whoever has seen me taking money from anywhere should come out to say it. Why do you like disgracing people? That is why people do not stop cursing. I will curse anyone who continues to spread this falsehood”, she finished.
