One of the most talked about Ghanaian artist, Noella Wiyaala is as of now out of Ghana and have rocked the stage in the cities of Germany including its capital Berlin and Denmark. The most incredible thing about her tour is that she carries an exclusive African style in everything like wardrobe, music or stage performances.

Recently, she has been exclusively interviewed for the British Newspaper. ‘Make Me Dance’ hitmaker discussed different topics about her early life as well as her music career, including her impacts growing up and how she sees the view of her as a ‘man-lady’.

Wiyaala expressed that she used to practice famous artists like Madonna and Michael Jackson’s dance moves and make songs in her own mind after listening to their songs.

“Sometimes we might occasionally see videos of Madonna and Michael Jackson thanks to the one TV and generator in the village. After the TV went off, I would imitate both of them, their dance moves and everything. I didn’t know what they were singing about so I would make up my own words to fit the melodies”.

Wiyaala proceeded with that the tag of her masculinity is something that has been with her since her early age, and it’s now a part of her image.

“Am I actually a man dressed as a woman? Well, last time I checked, I’m all woman. But yes, it is kind of accurate. I was always a little boy more than a little girl. I played aggressive football and at school I was known as ‘man-woman’. I ride big motorbikes and I am very strong for a girl. So to be honest, since it has helped me to gain identity in showbiz, I’ve encouraged it a little!”

As indicated by her, she has been compared with a few famous artists, for example, Mariam Makeba, Angelique Kidjo, Brenda Fassie, Katy Perry and Tracy Chapman.
