Ghanaian well known reggae artist, Blakk Rasta, has recently defended the British High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin, by saying that he sees nothing wrong, if Benjamin joins public discussions in Ghana.

Recently, Jon Benjamin got much of the public and media attention because of his controversial remarks on issues of national interest, especially on political and social issues. But, people were not happy and criticized him as much as possible as he is a diplomat, not a citizen.

One of his most controversial remarks was the tweet, he tweeted about a Ghanaian pastor, Bishop Daniel Obinim, after the National Communications Authority (NCA) had taken down his TV channel.

The blunt British High Commissioner said, “Oh no – Obinim’s TV channel has been taken down? Maybe he can reappear in animal form on Discovery Channel?

But on the contrary to this, Blakk Rasta defended Benjamin by saying even though some Ghanaians think he (UK agent) is being uproarious, it is his right as he is the citizen of the world.

Last Friday, while speaking exclusively to the host, Blakk Rasta said, “I personally like how he joins in national discussions which some people call interference, but I see it as his right as a citizen of the world”.
