The CEO of GB Interactive Ltd, Guru started a campaign, ‘80% GH Music on Our Airwaves’ an enterprise meant to get the radio station to play 80% music from Ghanaian singers.
Over the years, Ghana air waves has been ruled by foreign music as compared to the songs from the Ghanaian artists.
Some Ghanaian radio station’s plans don’t permit local music at certain time of the day and others barely play Ghanaian tunes.
This unlucky situation leads to the detriment of Ghanaian local music industry as their melodies are not endorsed enough to reach the Ghanaian people.
In an interview the endowed award winner Guru, spoke on the issue agrees 100% on the ideas of the crusade.
‘The more we play our melodies, the more we endorse our artist and their songs to the public. This reduces idleness to an extent since promoters will have no choice than book the Ghanaian artist for shows because their tunes are known and they can entertain the spectators when booked as well as their foreign complements.’
Further he advised musician to produce good music to make easy for their disc jockeys to play the music, not because it is the duty but the music is good.
