Ghanaian well-known artist, Kofi Kinaata
Ghanaian numerous awards winning highlife artist, Kofi Kinaata has recently revealed that the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) 2017 was all set up. He said he was expecting a nomination for Artist of the year award and he felt cheated when he didn’t get nominated at the current year’s VGMA.
Kofi Kinaata was exclusively interviewed on Accra based FM, where he revealed that, ‘From my point of view, I feel like the current year’s VGMA was a pre planned show. I felt cheated when I got to know that my name is missing from the list of nominees of Artist of the year award. As, it’s impossible that I got selected for highlife song of the year and also for songwriter of the year and not get nominated for the greatest category of the night? That was truly baffling’.
When the host asked the highlife artist about the ongoing relationship between him and his fellow artist, Pappy Kojo, Kinaata said, ‘People think I have an aggravation with my fellow artist and good friend, Pappy Kojo. Truth be told, he was my neighbor back in Takoradi and we are great companions. There is no beef between us’.
He also talked about his future projects that he is doing with some awesome African and international artists.
