Ten months to 2016 election and people of entertainment industry have also started showing their support publicly for some political parties.
This has been happening for quite some time now like Hi-life artists Kwabena Kwabena and Daddy Lumba had composed tracks for the NPP, Lucky Mensah has always been composing tracks for the NDC, and some actors like Mr. Beautiful and John Dumelo have heartily campaigned for the NDC in the previous elections.
But the entertainers are expected to confront vandalism in the Ashanti Region if they tried to start campaign for President John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming elections.
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the opposition party NPP, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako aka Chairman Wontumi has warned the entertainers not to run campaigns for the NDC and President Mahama if they want well patronage of their products in the Ashanti Region.
Wontumi, while talking to the media said he will be the first one to start a movement to vandalise any entertainer who will support President Mahama in the Ashanti region.
“The entertainers who will take bribe from the NDC and run campaign for President Mahama, Me and my people will make sure that their products are desolated in the Ashanti Region. They should campaign for poverty and help the poor instead of promoting Mahama and the NDC,” he told the journalists.
